There does not exist a first-person narrative of the interactions between Lakotan citizens and Corps of Discovery members during the eight days in September 1804. All that is available to describe the interactions are the journal entries of four Corps members: William Clark, Patrick Gass, John Ordway, and Joseph Whitehouse. Their complete entries for the eight days are presented on a linked page for each day.
