The CAIRNS director presented on Lakota star knowledge at the Mickelson Star Trail Night event in Rochford, South Dakota. His was one of three invited presentations. It covered Lakotan moon phases, the depiction of stars and moons in winter counts, and a couple traditional star narratives. All attendees received a copy of Tender Reverence, a field guide to naked-eye observation of stars related to traditional Lakotan narratives. The event was hosted by the South Dakota Chapter of the International Dark-Sky Association.
