This afternoon the CAIRNS director zoomed into Whitecap Dakota First Nation’s “Revitalizing Our Sacred Language” conference to presented an invited talk titled “Foundational Understandings.” Using a research approach that is built on the Four Rs of Rigor, Reliability, Respect, and Relevance, his fast-paced image-based presentation explored the myriad ways traditional Oceti Sakowin thoughts and philosophies are embodied in narratives, star knowledge, architecture and educational resources.
