Live from the Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies (CAIRNS), the Center’s director will explore the history and ramifications of the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty between the “different bands of the Sioux Nation of Indians” and the United States of America. This treaty is the subject of the CAIRNS educational art exhibition, Articles of a Treaty, featuring works by contemporary Oceti Sakowin visual artists, poets and musicians interpreting the seventeen articles of the treaty.
