“Center Pole” is the title of the poem Patrick LeBeau wrote for the upcoming CAIRNS educational art exhibit, The Gift. The poem is for Hanbleceya, one of the seven “gifts” that Black Elk said the White Buffalo Woman foretold would be associated with the sacred pipe. Above is the first stanza of Patrick’s poem.
